ProfileEdit

Breca (Gisli Orn Gardarsson)

Liar, thief, murderer, bigot, philanderer, but quick witted and courageous when it counts, Breca truly is the 'anti-warrior'. Beowulf and he are an unlikely pairing but despite Breca's shady and at times shocking acts, their friendship endures amidst the sea of politics, distrust and conflict within Herot. [1]

BiographyEdit

Breca was rescued from a lynch mob by Beowulf though he insisted that it wasn't a mob, "just close friends and family of the dead man", a dead man who Breca killed as Beowulf noted. Curious as to why Beowulf saved him from them, Beowulf replied simply that "we all make mistakes." He accompanied Beowulf when he returned to Herot to pay his respects to the ailing Thane, Hrothgar. On their way, they discovered a body which Beowulf found to have been killed by a mudborn, not having time to bury the body in order to make it to Herot by nightfall. Making note of everyone looking at Beowulf as they arrived, Beowulf having said that he left Herot on bad terms, Breca went to the blacksmith, a girl named Vishka, to get his blade fixed. That night, he attended the feast in the deceased Hrothgar's honour, where he was introduced to the widowed blacksmith Lila, Vishka's mother, by Red. He ended up marrying her then bedding her that same night. After getting up on the following morning he was attacked by an offended Vishka, and learned from her statement "If I had my way, they'd kill you with your friend.", that Beowulf was about to be executed, having been suspected of the murder of the Reeve Bayen. Sneaking his way through, Breca procured a dagger and proceeded to rescue Beowulf who was being taken to be executed. Taking a horse, Beowulf moved to save Elvina, who was being stalked by a mudborn. Finding a barghest which was killed by the beast, the pair were intercepted by Slean's men, but Beowulf quickly got them out of the predicament. Following the beast's tracks to an old giant keep, they found Elvina being kept by the mudborn, which knocked out Breca before Beowulf maimed the beast, forcing it off. Returning to Herot, Breca's injuries were tended to by Elvina and Lila. (Episode 1)
